Honda’s keeping us in suspense about the new Prelude’s tech, but we do know it’ll be a hybrid. While many are assuming it’s just a reworked Civic Hybrid, there may be more under the hood. Jessika Laudermilk, Honda’s Assistant VP of National Sales, recently confirmed the sixth-generation model will be marketed as a performance car.
This is interesting, given that Honda’s chief engineer, Tomoyuki Yamagami, mentioned in late 2023 that the Prelude wouldn’t be the ‘sportiest’ or ‘zippiest’ vehicle. What are your thoughts—could this new Prelude surprise us, or is Honda lowering expectations?
